I bought Spirit Tracks recently and it’s such a fun game! I love Zelda as a companion, it’s super refreshing to have her with you during the whole game and she’s such a fun character!

The Adult Timeline is the best because, in a series where most of the time it's not even clear whether or not certain games grouped together have any connection to one another or not, it alone manages not only to have an undeniable continuity between games, but also to carry a consistent thematic throughline across them. Take a look:

Wind Waker: The last member of a magical bloodline from the legendary kingdom cannot overcome a Demon King that ravaged the land. A team consisting of an average kid accidentally roped into the situation and a teenage pirate captain who lives her life mostly unaware of her special bloodline powers (and ultimately renounces them later anyway) resolves this conflict instead. The final battle has Link and Tetra fight against Ganondorf, who, despite wielding both the power of the Triforce and the might of a demon, is surprisingly more human than Daphnes' description would lead one to believe.

Phantom Hourglass: A dream deity and his weirdly Triforce-ish-coded fairy spirit posse cannot overcome their demonic squid adversary. A team consisting of a (mostly) average kid whose herioc credentials are irrelevant in the current circumstances and an even averagier man, both roped into the situation by accident, resolves this conflict instead. The final battle forces Link to fight against a horrifying fusion of the most human and the most supernatural characters in the game.

Spirit Tracks: Six divine servants cannot overcome a trio made up by a (different, fully demonic this time) Demon King, his demon henchman and a former fellow servant. A team consisting of an average kid accidentally roped into the situation and a young princess who has divine powers, but notably says "Yes, we are humans. We have neither the power of spirits nor demons. But when we combine our strength... No one can defeat us!", resolves this conflict instead. The mid-point of the game has Link and Zelda fight against Byrne, whose main motivation was overcoming the spirits he was destined to serve in power, and who looks most human out of the three antagonists.

A motif! And not just any motif! The fact that all these games say "Regular people from any background can overcome the seemingly insurmountable powers-that-be" is very refreshing in a series full of "Hylias reborn" and "hatred incarnates" and "secretly you were never a Kokiri" and "our world allllways had a legend about Ordonian farmboys with divinely-assigned fursonas and conspicuous triangular marks on their hands that are never addressed by the story yet Are There since the start of the game".

Here's a Spirit Tracks fanart, the first Zelda game I have beaten ! I actually drew this for a Linktober prompt titled "Phantom"

I had a hard time with rendering things at the time, that's why most of my art before April-May have a "flat" feel to it. Still love this drawing though !
